What?s up, Maplers?
We have received suggestions on ways to chat with your friends playing in MapleStory, but in different server worlds. We do not currently have a means to chat from server world to server world, but we have found a great program that can fill your needs?
it?s called XFIRE and can be downloaded on www.xfire.com
XFIRE many great features that you enable you to:
1) know when your friends are online
2) know when they are logged on MapleStory
3) send messages and receive messages from in and out of game. So, if you are playing in Scania, you will be able to send a chat message to a buddy in Bera or Broa. In fact, XFire enables you to chat with friends that are playing other games as well.
4) Track how long you play MapleStory and show that off to others using XFire Signatures. Um? maybe you don?t want to show that off. We?ll leave that up to you =)
There are many other great features and we encourage you to check out XFire on www.xfire.com.
Here?s how it works:
1) Download XFIRE at www.xfire.com and install the client.
2) Create an XFire account.
3) Click on Tools -> Find Installed Software. This will enable XFIRE to register MapleStory and other games you may have installed on your computer. By doing so, XFire will recognize MapleStory when running.
4) Play MapleStory with XFire running.
To use in-game chat on MapleStory, you?ll have to first change the configuration for the chat window, since the Scroll Lock is used for screenshots in MapleStory. XFire uses Scroll Lock as a default key for their in-game chat. If you do not reconfigure, you?ll be taking a screenshot every time you send a message from the game =(
To Reconfigure: Head to tools -> options -> chat. There, click on Key Binding, where you can assign any combination of buttons you may wish to enable chat during the game. Please make sure to assign buttons that does not affect your game play.
Try it! We think it?s a great tool for gaming and? It?s free and easy to use.
Happy Mapling!!
